Netdoxs™ efficiently automates any invoicing or payment systems
Learn why Netdoxs™ is the world's best online invoicing & payment system

January 3rd, 2003

By Jonathan Taylor, v-p., GCIS Banking Solutions

Case Study: The General Center for Internet Services Inc. (GCIS) has implemented Netdoxs™ to solution today's complex problems of Bill Presentment & Payment (BPP).

Netdoxs™ streamlines the process of getting rates onto bills
Netdoxs™ from GCIS streamlines the process of getting rates onto bills and bills out to customers, according to Bob Beaudoin, vice-president, GCIS Banking Solutions. Netdoxs™ powerful capabilities integrate rate and tariff information into a corporate management information system using the most advanced, secure Internet solutions developed at the Center.

Case study: The implementation of Netdoxs™ has enabled Halifax, N.S.-based Online Secure Bills & Payments Ltd (OSBP). to more accurately and efficiently manage its service contracts, eliminating rating errors and improving cash flow, according to Beaudoin. OSBP currently produces four invoices, called bills of lading in the industry, per hour. Beaudoin said Netdoxs™ from GCIS now allows OSBP to produce over ten invoices per hour.

OSBP has been using Netdoxs™ for more than a year to calculate correct charges for each transaction. Netdoxs™ does it in less than a minute, as opposed to the 30 to 35 minutes it took before the contract process was automated by GCIS. "Our client's error rates are now less than 0.2 percent," says John Ligger, OSBP's senior accounts manager.

He said Netdoxs™'s automated functions allows customers like OSBP to interface their back-office applications in order to automatically rate the carriers' bills of lading. In addition, to helping OSBP produce higher-quality invoices, Netdoxs™ allows the company to meet new federal port security guidelines.

         Netdoxs™ main advantages:
No more traditional paper bills or other documents.
You can analyse your e-bills or other important documents.
You can pay directly and see the impact on your account immediately.
Fully secure 128 bit encrypted North-American banking environment.

In the past, U.S. Customs gave carriers up to two weeks after a ship left a foreign port to file their cargo manifests. However, under the Container Security Initiative, carriers will have to electronically file their shipping manifests 24 hours before cargo can be loaded in a foreign port. That new rule went into effect Dec. 2, 2002 although sea carriers have a 60-day grace period to comply.

OSBP sold one of its division for US $25 million in cash
Last week, OSBP said it was selling one of its cargo billing services division, to a new venture formed by investors from Hong Kong for approximately US $25 million in cash and securities. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals. Closing is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2003. Ligger says that the sale of that division would have been impossible without the successful implementation of Netdoxs™ from GCIS.

Says Ligger: "The professional people at the Center came in and started a complete analysis of the billing and payment system that existed at the time. After three weeks of surveying and data intelligence gathering, they came up with a final proposal. That proposal called for the implementation of Netdoxs™ into all our accounting systems. After less than a week, full product testing and quality control was already in place. Netdoxs™ performed better than we even had expected. As a bonus, the whole solution was incorporated into our system both under budget and ahead a full week before its deadline. We are very pleased with Netdoxs™.
